Carpentry screws are an indispensable item in the toolkit of every professional carpenter.

They are metal screws that are characterised by their wide range of applications and reliability, which makes them indispensable in construction, carpentry and various types of wooden structures.
Carpentry screws – construction screws are increasingly replacing nails in use due to their advantages such as:

  1. Carrying heavier loads
  2. Allows the tightening of bolted parts
  3. Increase the rigidity of the overall structure
  4. Strength and durability
Carpentry screws are manufactured from high quality steel or alloys, giving them excellent strength and load resistance. This makes them ideal for fixing timber and structures that require stability over a long period of time. Professionals appreciate this feature as it guarantees the safety and reliability of their projects.
  5. Various sizes and types:
Klimas Wkręt-met offers carpentry screws, construction screws in various sizes and types. This enables professionals to select the right screw for their specific needs. Regardless of the thickness or length of the timber, there is a screw perfectly suited to the construction in question, which speeds up the work and makes it easier to carry out.
  6. Fast and precise assembly:
Carpentry screws are known for their ease of installation. They have special threads that enable precise and fast screwing, which is extremely important for professionals who often work under time constraints. The efficiency of installation translates into increased productivity and reduced time associated with wooden structures. Allows corrections in the event of faulty installation (can be unscrewed and screwed in again)
  7. Weather resistance:
Thanks to their quality of manufacture, carpentry screws are resistant to atmospheric conditions such as moisture and corrosion. This makes the timber structures in which they are used more durable and less susceptible to damage from exposure to different weather conditions. They owe this to the special anti-corrosion coating SQ Ceramic.
  8. Application in many fields:
Carpentry screws are versatile in their application. They are used not only in traditional construction and carpentry, but also in furniture making, wooden garden structures, decking, flooring, fences and many other projects. This versatility makes carpentry screws an indispensable tool for any woodworking professional.

FORCES AND CONDITIONS TO WHICH CARPENTRY SCREWS ARE SUBJECTED

When designing and selecting carpentry connectors, there are some basic parameters to consider, such as:
1. Place of application of the screws,
2. Place and type of load,
3. Type of forces acting on the screw

CARPENTRY SCREWS APPLICATION

The main use of carpentry screws for wood is to join elements of frame structures – rafters, counter-battens and battens, roof trusses. The carpentry screw passes the test very well in the construction of timber-frame houses.

Carpentry screws are ideally suited to joints where it is important to tighten the piece being fastened and for the pieces to fit tightly together after joining. Such as joining the walls of timber-frame houses or screwing two beams together.

PLACE OF APPLICATION FOR CONSTRUCTION SCREWS

Use classes of structures
In the case of wooden structures, the breakdown of use classes of structures is as follows:
Use class 1: is characterised by a material moisture content corresponding to a temperature of 20° C and a relative humidity of the surrounding air exceeding 65% for only a few weeks of the year. This class includes all construction elements which are located in a heated space, closed on all sides, where external conditions have no influence. In this case, the average moisture content of coniferous wood does not exceed 12%.
Examples of such structures are all kinds of living quarters.
Use class 2: is characterised by a material moisture content corresponding to a temperature of 20° C and a relative humidity of the surrounding air exceeding 85% for only a few weeks of the year. This class includes covered structural elements in open buildings. These elements are not directly exposed to the weather. In this case, the average moisture content of coniferous wood does not exceed 20%. Examples of such structures are sheds or covered, unheated lofts.
Use class 3: corresponds to conditions resulting in a moisture content of the wood higher than that of use classes 1 and 2. This category includes all structural elements exposed to the weather.
